Challenge Course
The Challenge Course is an option for youth who face:
School suspension
(as a result of violating an alcohol, tobacco, or other drug policy)
or
Judiciary action
from violating a State law pertaining to alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs
The Challenge Course is 15 hours long (excluding intake and exit interviews).
The curriculum emphasizes group interaction.
The goals of The Challenge Course are:
* To educate participants in major issues pertaining to substance abuse;
* To create a supportive environment;
* To encourage critical self-evaluation;
* To introduce healthy communication and coping skills within the context of adolescent behavior;
* To generate appropriate follow-up recommendations for each group member;
* To have a positive, drug-free learning experience.
Attendance to all sessions is mandatory. (Consequences will be pre-determined by facilitators).
